Ok so these might need a little explaining. This is a deeply personal piece, for me. After seven years of an on off relationship i got pregnant. The father was verbally and physically abusive to me before during and after my pregnancy.

These are titled the truth about sticks and stones, to speak out against verbal abuse, and degradation. They are meant to be uncomfortable, emotional and depressing, but at the same time accessible. The words over the top are on velum, overlaying the India ink painting below(close ups will be posted without velum) and these are unedited emails from the father of my son. The pictures are what i was experiencing at the time i received the emails and are self portraits of myself and my son, after almost loosing him to a placental abruption. It is meant to allow the viewer insight into what people might be going through when they say nasty things to them, and bring more awareness that abuse is not only physical.
